Three ways to work with us
We recommend the one that fits the shape of your work, not the one that is better for us. Most clients start with fixed scope and move to a retainer once the direction is clear.
Fixed Scope
A defined outcome, a defined price.
From $25,000
Quoted after a paid discovery phase
Best for: Well-understood projects with a clear finish line — a website, an MVP, a migration, an audit.
- Fixed price against an agreed, written scope
- Milestone-based payment schedule
- Change requests priced transparently, never absorbed silently
- Two-week increments with demoable output
- Full source code and IP ownership on completion
- 30 days of post-launch defect support included
Project-based · typically 6–20 weeks
Scope a projectRetainer
A predictable slice of senior capacity, every month.
From $18,000/mo
Based on a committed monthly capacity
Best for: Continuous product development where scope evolves and priorities shift between sprints.
- Named team with reserved, committed capacity
- Priorities set by you, re-planned every sprint
- Unused capacity rolls forward one month
- Direct access to architects, security and SRE specialists
- Monthly reporting on delivery, quality and spend
- 30 days' notice to change or end the arrangement
Rolling · 3-month minimum
Discuss a retainerDedicated Team
A complete pod that owns a product area end to end.
From $42,000/mo
Typical pod: 4–6 people, priced per role
Best for: Sustained delivery at scale, or extending your engineering capacity without a hiring cycle.
- Engineers, QA and delivery lead — designer optional
- Integrated with your process, board and standards
- You interview and approve every team member
- Scale up or down with 30 days' notice
- Free replacement within the first three weeks of any placement
- No placement fee if you hire the team directly after 12 months
Rolling · 3-month minimum

Typical cost
What things actually cost
Honest ranges rather than anchors. Where your project lands inside a range depends on integration count, compliance requirements and how much of the domain is already understood.
| Project type | Typical range | What that covers |
|---|---|---|
| Corporate website | $18k – $45k | 10–20 pages, CMS, full SEO baseline |
| Mobile app (v1) | $50k – $160k | Native or cross-platform, with backend |
| SaaS MVP | $70k – $180k | Auth, core workflow, billing, analytics |
| Custom web platform | $60k – $250k | First production release |
| Cloud migration | $80k – $400k | Assessment, landing zone, waves |
| Enterprise platform | $250k+ | Multi-phase, regulated environments |
Why discovery is paid
Free discovery is not free — it is priced into the project, it tends to be shallow because nobody can justify the time, and it creates pressure on both sides to say yes to work that should not proceed.
Paid discovery is real work with a real deliverable. One to four weeks, typically $8,000–$30,000 depending on scope, producing a domain model, a technical approach, a risk register and a costed backlog with a fixed-scope number for phase one.
You own that output regardless of what happens next. If you take it to another firm, your second evaluation will be dramatically better informed — and that is a perfectly acceptable outcome.
What discovery produces
- A written domain model and process map
- Technical approach with the alternatives considered
- Risk register with mitigation and owner per item
- Prioritised backlog, estimated with stated confidence
- Fixed-scope price for phase one
- A recommendation — including "do not build this"
