Progressive Web App (PWA) Development Services

App-grade experiences that install, work offline and skip the app store.

About Progressive Web Apps (PWA)

A Progressive Web App gives you most of what a native app provides — a home screen icon, offline capability, push notifications, background sync, instant loading — without the acquisition friction of an app store. For field teams on unreliable connectivity, for retail customers who will never install a 90MB app to buy once, and for internal tools that need to work in a warehouse basement, the PWA is frequently the correct answer and the cheaper one.

The engineering that makes a PWA good is unglamorous and specific: a service worker with a caching strategy chosen per resource type rather than one blanket rule; an offline data layer that queues mutations and resolves conflicts deterministically when connectivity returns; a web app manifest configured so installation actually prompts on both Android and iOS; and a shell that renders meaningfully before the network responds. Get any of those wrong and you have a website with a misleading icon.

We build PWAs on top of the same server-rendered foundations we use for any web platform, so you keep SEO — the pages are crawlable, indexable and shareable by URL, which is precisely what a native app cannot offer. We instrument install rates, offline session counts and notification engagement so you can see whether the capability is earning its keep, and we are candid when a genuine native build is the better investment.

Where a PWA fits, the economics are hard to argue with: one codebase, one deployment pipeline, instant updates with no review queue, full search visibility, and reach across every device with a modern browser.

Why it matters

What you get

Works without a connection

Service worker caching plus a queued mutation layer keeps critical workflows usable offline and syncs cleanly when the network returns.

No app store gatekeeping

Ship fixes in minutes rather than waiting on review cycles, and skip platform revenue share entirely.

Installable, but still indexable

Users get a home screen icon and full-screen launch; search engines still get crawlable, linkable URLs.

Dramatically lower acquisition friction

No download, no store account, no 100MB install. Users are in the experience on first tap.

One codebase across every platform

Android, iOS, desktop and tablet share a single build and deployment pipeline, cutting ongoing maintenance substantially.

How we deliver

Our process for this work

Adapted to this service specifically — not a generic five-box diagram.

  1. 01

    Capability assessment

    1 week

We map required device capabilities against current browser support and tell you honestly whether a PWA, native app, or hybrid is the right call.

  2. 02

    Offline & sync architecture

    1–2 weeks

Caching strategy per resource, local persistence model, mutation queue design and a documented conflict-resolution policy.

  3. 03

    App shell & feature build

    6–14 weeks

Instant-loading shell, core feature implementation, manifest and install prompt tuning, push notification infrastructure.

  4. 04

    Field testing

    1–2 weeks

Real-device testing across Android and iOS, deliberate network throttling and airplane-mode scenarios, Lighthouse PWA audit at 100.

  5. 05

    Launch & measure

    Ongoing

Instrumented install rate, offline usage and notification opt-in, reviewed against the business case that justified the build.
