Design Systems and Branding for Technology Products

A shared language for product teams, in code and in Figma.

About Design Systems & Branding

A design system pays for itself when it stops being a component library and starts being an agreement. The library is the visible artefact; the value is that designers stop redrawing buttons, engineers stop reimplementing dropdowns, accessibility is solved once instead of per feature, and a product built by four teams still feels like one product. Without the agreement — governance, contribution path, adoption plan — a component library becomes another abandoned Figma file within a year.

We build systems in three layers that stay synchronised. Tokens: colour, type, spacing, radius, elevation and motion defined once as platform-agnostic values and transformed into CSS variables, Tailwind config, iOS and Android outputs. Components: accessible primitives with every state, variant and responsive behaviour, implemented in code and mirrored exactly in Figma so a designer and an engineer are looking at the same thing. Patterns: the compositions — forms, tables, empty states, navigation — where most real inconsistency actually creeps in.

Documentation is treated as part of the product. Not just a props table, but usage guidance, the reasoning behind decisions, do-and-do-not examples, accessibility notes per component, and a migration path when something changes. Every component ships with visual regression tests and automated accessibility checks in CI, so drift is caught by the pipeline rather than noticed months later by a designer.

On the brand side we work specifically with technology companies, where identity has to function across a marketing site, a product interface, documentation, sales material and a terminal. That constrains the design in useful ways — a logo has to work at 16px in a browser tab, a colour palette has to survive dark mode and meet contrast requirements, and a type system has to handle both a hero headline and a dense data table.

Why it matters

What you get

Tokens as the single source

One definition transformed into CSS variables, Tailwind config and native platform outputs — change the token, change everything downstream.

Figma and code that genuinely match

Components mirrored exactly across both, with visual regression tests catching divergence in CI rather than in review.

Accessibility solved once

Keyboard interaction, ARIA semantics, focus management and contrast built into each primitive so every feature inherits it.

Governance that keeps it alive

Contribution process, review criteria, versioning and deprecation policy — the difference between a living system and an abandoned file.

Brand built for technical surfaces

Identity that works at 16px in a tab, in dark mode, in a dense data table and on a conference banner — not just on a moodboard.

How we deliver

Our process for this work

Adapted to this service specifically — not a generic five-box diagram.

  1. 01

    Audit & inventory

    1–2 weeks

Interface inventory across existing products — every button, colour and spacing value in use — quantifying the actual inconsistency.

  2. 02

    Foundations

    2–3 weeks

Token architecture, type and spacing scale, colour system with contrast verified across light and dark, and motion principles.

  3. 03

    Component library

    4–10 weeks

Accessible primitives built in code and Figma with all states, plus Storybook documentation, visual regression and axe checks in CI.

  4. 04

    Patterns & documentation

    2–4 weeks

Composite patterns, usage guidance, decision rationale, accessibility notes and migration guides for the components being replaced.

  5. 05

    Adoption & governance

    Ongoing

Migration support per team, contribution process, versioning and deprecation policy, and an adoption metric that is actually tracked.
